The first BRIC Annual Symposium was held in November 2024 and it brought together 60 researchers, ECRs and students. A highlight was to have the privilege of the attendance of Professor Brian Connolly from the Henry Royce Institute in Manchester (UK) and Dr Jean-Francois Briand from the MAPIEM Lab in Toulon University (France).  The symposium also featured presentations from our HDRs and Postdocs in addition to our Chief Investigators. It provided an opportunity for the BRIC staff, researchers, students and industry partners to be together as a cohort and share their experience and knowledge. It also included a dinner and a networking event where the team were able to get to know each other in more informal settings.

Many of the attendees visited the BRIC wastewater management trial facility being constructed with SA Water at its site at Angaston in South Australia.

In addition to Flinders University, Swinburne University and the University of Tasmania, the BRIC has recently welcomed RMIT and QUT as new research partners.
